The M1907 overcoat is a slight modification from the overcoat adopted in 1902.  It is distinguished by its long length, fingertip length sleeves, turned up cuffs and rimless eagle buttons.  This style coat was still standard issue when the US entered WWI, so the first troops to go "Over There"  were wearing these.  All remaining stocks were immediately issued to mobilizing troops, so many of the National Guard division also took them to France.
