British WWII Indian Made Mess Tins (Original)

More!

Code: 204162000
These are very rare mess tins made in India during WWII.  They are distinctive in being soldered together rather than stamped like British made tins.  Most are dated 1942.  In original used, very good condition, still in packing grease.  The last batch sold out quickly, and we found just a few more.

This is the sweater immortalized in the WWII cartoon series "The Two Types." A heavy weight all wool sweater popular with British officers on the Northwest Frontier, it was worn in the Western Desert in WWII as a sign that the wearer had "been there," as opposed to being fresh from Blighty.  Two front chest pockets, epaulets for wearing rank slides, cotton elbow patches.

Consisting of Jacket (201098) and Trouser (201109). There were no giants in WWII. If you are exceptionally tall or wide, there is no battledress of any kind to fit you except reproductions. Even if you are a normal WWII size, real British BD is extremely scarce. Jackets in normal sizes can be found by diligent searching; trousers are nearly impossible.
