In 1942 the Army re-issued old stocks of M1917 .45 ACP revolvers, but a new holster was adopted. The M2 (also referred to as M1942) was the same as the earlier M1909 holster, but was reversed for a butt to the rear carry on the right side, and a simplified right hand draw.

For 6x30 M6 Binoculars. These came ouf of a sealed, 1943 dated wooden crate, clearly marked as USMC property. Unlike the Army version, these cases have absolutely no markings (typical of USMC equipment), and are dyed a very dark cordovan.
