The M6 gas mask was issued to all US troops in the European theater. This canvas carrier was issued to everyone other than assault landing troops. GI's quickly tossed the gas mask and used it as a utility bag.
NOTE: The lower leg strap is not included, as this was also quickly discarded by most soldiers.
