These trousers run true to 1940s pants sizing; they are not "vanity sized." I measured my waist just above the hipbone around bellybutton level and got 30 inches; I ordered a size 30 and they fit perfectly. The quality of the wool is very good. They need a good pressing as they come folded up and pretty wrinkled, and may or may not need to be hemmed depending upon your inseam length.
These trousers are a reproduction of the 1942 model that had substantial increases in the rise, seat, and thighs when compared to the pre-war trousers. They do not have the "gas flap" (additional material across the inside of the crotch secured with a sixth button).
