I’m not in reenactment but I’m a big fan of O.D. Vintage style army shirts from both WWI and WWII. I purchased two of the US M1916 Pullover Wool Shirts to use as “hiking and camping” shirts. These are very well made and very high quality and thick! Nothing feels cheap about them at all! Be warned though they are not soft merino wool so you should wear an under shirt with them as they are just a little itchy but not like the old school itchy wool. Comfortable just the same. I’m 5’ 10” and a thin 145 lbs. I purchased size 42 and it fits great! A little bit of room for layering and sized up so it’s easier to pull over my head and shoulders so I recommend ordering a slight size up from your normal shirt size. The interior includes the sewn in cotton layer inserts from the top of the front shoulder to top chest just like the originals did for added strength and comfort. I recommend these US M1916 Pullover Wool Shirts!
