I got one of these chinstrap to use with my vintage 1940s campaign hat that I needed to replace the original chinstrap due to the original being old and brittle so I got one of these to use as I wanted one that I could use with campaign hat cords. I did add some more holes on it after it arrived so that I could put it behind my head like how some of the cavalry soldiers wore there’s on their campaign hats in the 1995 hbo movie in pursuit of honor. It was also a little bit hard to get the parts that go through the grommets on my campaign hat to go back thru when I attached them using my campaign hat cord but I got them thru and attached.
