AFAIK, the only full length (30"/75cm) 'caps, comforter', available today are sold by WPG. Other replicas are 60cm and need 'differential folding', like modern British Army 'headovers', if they are to look correct. Caps comforter are far simpler and can even be folded in the dark (to turn the sweaty side outside, for instance).
WPG's India pattern cap comforter, in comparison to the 2021 British version, is of a pleasant hazelnut/tobacco brown colour (vs taupe) in a rougher wool. Out of the bag, it is slightly narrower at the end seams (22 vs 23 cm) and lighter (127 vs 151g), with a length of 82 cm (vs 79cm washed) and has more stretch (looser knit). Once washed and shaped, the length came down to 75cm, slightly shorter than the British version (76cm), after stretching to fit my 59cm (7 3/8) head.
The folded result is very pleasing. The colour is excellent for everyday use and the dimensions allow for a neat 'Brigade of Guards' finish, albeit with quite enough peaks showing for those who prefer the Commando look. Likewise, the brown colour would be good for re-enactors searching for an 'Out since Mons' motif, even though 'brown' was replaced by 'drab' in 1907. WW2 cap comforters seem to be in every colour under the clouds whilst, for my generation (1970's) they were 'mushy pea green' ... like everything else. The only downside was a few thistle or grass splinters in the yarn, probably from shearing, that were quickly found and picked out. A lot of dye came out on washing and a twist developed as knitting stresses were relieved that was easily straightened whilst the material was damp. Many thanks to Wajed for sorting out Paypal issues and, as usual, blisteringly fast delivery.

soak and put on head
(2024-03-20)
This very attractively made cap comforter seemed a bit tight when I first put it on. Well, "seemed" -- it was tight, yes it was. But on the first warm day, I soaked it thoroughly and put it on and let it dry on my head. This a. kept my head delightfully cool and b. conformed the comforter to my head. All the woven stuff I've received from WPG has been superlative, this is no exception and may be the one I'll use the most.

The item arrived in record time. One thing that is not in the “How to wear†video is the suggestion to soak the scarf before sizing it to your head. Other than that it is exactly as shown.
