Size was spot on. Really nice beret. This is the first beret I've purchased for reenacting, but I used to wear an issue one (maroon) in the Army. This is obviously a different style of beret (than a modern US Army one), but the quality is far better than what I was issued. Better wool, good sizing, good band. All in all A+++
