The UK SBS/RN Canoeist Smock is an excellent replica every bit as durable as the original. Wind and water resistant. The elastic in the waist keeps the wind from robbing the heat out of your body. I sized up two sizes to ease donning and doffing and to layer more insulating clothes. A scarf or neck gaiter fits inside the collar for toasty warmth. My celly easily fits in the map pocket.

Being made of cotton it is a bit heavier that modern fabrics. It breathes well so moisture from hard work passes thought the garment. This is a major comfort detail.

The smock is well suited to cold/wet environments and cold/dry environments down to 0*F.
