As close to perfect as you can get (2025-03-31)
I very much agree with all the positive reviews the WPG 60 pattern smock has received. When it arrived, I laid it out beside an original and could find almost no variance at all. In fact, the only thing I noticed was that the buttons on the WPG were a couple of millimeters larger than on the original. This, to be honest, was an improvement on the original and is really not noticeable when worn. And it might have been a quirk of the original, not WPG. I am 6’2”, 205lbs and a 44Long jacket. I went with a 46 regular and this was the right choice for me. The sleeves were a bit long, even for me, and I have long arms, so I washed the jacket a few times in a non-agitator dryer (the kind without the central column) and dried it on low heat. This shortened up the sleeves so that they were just right, and there was exactly the right amount of room in the chest. Washing it also gave the material the right patina, without removing the characteristic sheen of the green 60 pattern smocks. The zip head is different from the original, but not by much, and the more important color of the tape is exactly right. The zip can’t be seen when worn anyway. I went out for a walk with my wife, wearing what I thought was my original, and regaled her with my appreciation for WPG (which she endured, but barely) and was busy commenting on how accurate the reproduction of my smock was and that I would show her the reproduction when we got home. And when I got home, I realized that I had actually been wearing the reproduction but it looked and fitted so closely to the original that I hadn’t noticed! The sizing of WPG items hasn’t always worked for me, especially with their sweaters, but this one turned out perfectly. I am grateful to WPG for giving me the chance to wear the clothes I admired on my father and grandfather, both British soldiers in their day, and who wore bits of their old gear long after their service had finished.

Excellent repro of rare smock. (2024-06-21)
Compared to my original you would be hard pressed to spot the difference.Ive given mine a spray of Oxford motorcycle clothing reproofer and it’s come up like the originals were on issue with a slight sheen. Can’t fault it,I take a 40 chest which I ordered and fits me fine.

Identical to my 66 issued smock (2023-10-07)
Fits well in the body but a little long in the arms, so it is off to the tailor next week... One or two of the buttons needed the stitching reinforcing..
