UK Officer Service Dress Caps

The cap is made from Khaki Barathea wool. The cloth is nicely woven and has a strong fraction of green, similar to Canadian uniforms from WWII. The material is of good quality and the texture is spot on when compared to original battle dress. The cap is fully lined with a silk interior.

Sizing can be inconsistent, with some caps running small and others running a little too big. It is common for a cap marked with one size to measure smaller. If the cap is slightly tight, it will become perfect with wear. Some caps have been found to be a size smaller than marked.

The cap features a leather chinstrap and brass Kings Crown General Service buttons. The crown and brim are well made and will not deteriorate from moisture. The main interior band is very robust, making it challenging to fit a badge with lugs.

The cap is very shapeable, and it is easy to form the nicely rolled crown by first soaking it in water. It is possible to do other modifications to achieve a desired shape. The cap has a rolled crown across the front centre.

The cap comes with a leather chinstrap and brass Kings Crown General Service buttons. It does not include a badge. The cap is fully lined and has a velvet strip on the front of the sweatband.

The cap is of equal or superior quality to original WWII caps, with the exception of the buttons. The quality of the material and craftsmanship is superior to many other reproductions available. The chinstrap is as heavy as those on WWII originals.
