New reproduction of early pattern BD wool trousers

Note that my BD copies the earliest pattern of BD. The field dressing pocket on the trousers has no button and only a single pleat. The jacket copies only the first adopted modification, which was a cotton lining on the collar. Para trousers copy the simpler pattern usually seen in photos. They have the internal knife pocket on the right seam. Cargo pocket is lined with cotton drill. Chamois was a bad idea, as the Paras found out the first time it got wet in the field.

Remember that your military waist is above the navel, not where your jeans ride. If in doubt, order a larger size.

What material are the trousers made from?

The trousers are made from wool. Some trousers are made from "siege wool", which is a real wool. The fabric, cut, and construction compare well with original items.

How accurate are the trousers to the original P-37 pattern?

The trousers are a reproduction of the early pattern of BD. The field dressing pocket has no button and only a single pleat. The trousers have an internal knife pocket on the right seam and a cotton drill-lined cargo pocket.

How do the trousers fit?

Sizing is inconsistent between trousers, with some finding their ordered waist size to be accurate and others finding it significantly larger than advertised. The leg width is massively oversized on some pairs. The trousers are generally roomy, and some pairs have extra length for hemming or lengthening.

What kind of buttons are used on the trousers?

The trousers use green plastic buttons, not brass or olive drab tin buttons. Some trousers arrive with a button missing, which prevents the use of braces.

How should I determine my size for these trousers?

Your military waist is above the navel, not where jeans typically sit. If you are unsure, ordering a larger size is recommended. Some trousers are true to size, while others are much larger than advertised.

What is the quality of the trousers like?

The trousers are generally well-made with good construction and material. Some trousers have a quality issue, such as a missing button. The quality and fit are often described as "spot on" and "up to spec".
