US WWI Pattern Mackinaw Short Overcoat

When the US Army recognized a need for Mackinaw coats contracts went out to many small suppliers, who produced a wide variety of minor differences in their coats. These coats were initially authorized only for drivers but photos show that they were widely popular in the AEF.
