In 1916 the Army authorized officer to privately purchase a hip-length canvas mackinaw. No specific pattern was issued, so there are many minor variations of this coat. Our is lined throughout the body in genuine sheepskin shearling. Sleeves are lined in blanket wool. Genuine leather trim on the pockets. Our original had an oilskin lining under the outer shell, but we have replaced this with another layer of waterproof canvas.
NOTE ON SIZES; These are sized to wear over a shirt or light sweater. To wear over a service coat order one size larger.
