Been looking for one of these for years now.
The cover is almost a perfect fit for the straight stocked Springfield series of rifles.
Had to brush off the rust off the buttons and replace the leather strips due to deterioration over the years.

I'll echo the previous comments that the action cover is in immaculate condition, save for a small amount of verdigris on the grommets. Freakin' awesome.

For the money it's hard to beat these original WW2 Savage breech covers. They are a tight fit, but hell, if you were 69 years old you'd be a little shrunken too! As another buyer said above, the cotton is a little brittle and prone to tearing around the snap and tie-on grommets, but all in all, pretty good stuff.

the perfect, cherry on top bit of bling for my favorite SMLE. appeared brand new, not stored nearly 70 years- save for a touch of the usual blue oxidation on the metal parts. mfg in 1942. snug, but perfect fit on my lithgow enfield! i will buy several more of these fairly rare bits for the rest of the enfield family in my closet!
