Great boots.

Schnelle - US

The USMC Roughout Boondockers were shipped and received quickly from the UAE. The boots are of high quality material/construction and needed minimal break-in time. I soaked them thoroughly with the hose, let them drain and wore them to work for 10+ hours with no issues. Upon them drying completely (about 24 hours), I dubbed them with Sno-Seal (using a heat gun on the lowest setting to work in the Sno-seal) to achieve the desired color and replaced the laces with surplus original 1940s laces. They look and feel great. My only issue with them is that they do not have the accurate pointed toe profile as did the original WWII USMC Boondockers. However, it is the most affordable reproduction available at the moment.

Issue boots with leather that is actually thick enough to stand abuse. Corded soles, eyelets that don't fall out from new. And almost a third of the price of the "other" US manufacturer.
What's not to like.

So I took the plunge and purchased a pair of What Price Glory USMC Boondockers (NZD $260 shipped via FedEx).
I purchased US Size 11 and they run true to size👍
No build or design defects to my eye (the correct more pronounced pointed toe to them being addressed by Jerry Lee already as a manufacturer limitation).
The leather seems to be thicker or stiffer than other roughouts I've purchased before however that could simply be a breaking in thing.
Overall I'm very happy with them🙂
