Reproduction uniforms are art and science. The cloth color and weave have to be right; the pattern has to be right and the sewing construction has to be right. This cap is fine on all counts and it's as good as we'll get in the 21st Century.

Received fast as always. Soaked and hung dry the cap, took off excess fuzz with a lint shaver, and oiled the leather strap and now it looks the part! Only complaint is the white dome lining with WPG logo inside; may sew in a khaki lining.

Got my trench cap in a timely manner even arriving from a world away . it arrived New Years Eve 2013 in time for me to pick up a veteran friend at the airport . the first thing she noticed was my trench Cap !! It gathers compliments every where I go and conversations with old Veterans .Excellent quality , I wear a size 73/8but ordered a 71/2 fits perfect !!!

The cap itself is fantasic.
The chin strap is terrible, the buckles are not correct, neither is the buckle arrangement. the buckle nearest the rivet should be the H shaped type not rectangular, thats why the strap cannot fit to it correctly and why you cannot easily adjust the overall length of the strap. This is why a few people have said the strap is too long.

The tunic ,trousers and boots are a very high quality and well made. The same for the trench cap and puttees bought separate. Very happy with the product.
But the use of DHL as a carrier is far below standard, 3 days from the Middle East to the local DHL depot about a 3/4 Hr. drive from my house , then 2 weeks to get to my house.

I bought this cap for my husband, who is something of a WWII (actually, history in general) buff and he absolutely loves it. He found the strap to be a little long as well, so he wet it slightly and let is shrink overnight; then an application of saddle soap and it's fine. I agree with the post about the cost - I would have paid the entire amount to begin with; now since I received an invoice with the cap I have another check to write and mail when I pay bills.

Advice for german customers: DHL, Fedex or UPS and evade this bad GDSK-joke.

As far as I can say, this cap looks convincing for reenactment. In fact wearing it all the time, now. Threated with hot water as mentioned earlier gives it a nice worn touch. Size is precise.
