Compared to the UK full hose, these have a sense of the home-made, which Indian products of many sorts (paper, e.g.) has and which I personally find attractive. The turn-ups of these hose are a bit loosely woven to the leg overall, easily solved if one is used to darning but not quite 100% ready out of the post. A quibble. These are overall very fine, super comfortable. If you hike and prefer a tall stocking, these are worth your consideration.

Pretty good quality but I think they were made for a giant. I got a pair of the UK ones many years ago and I figured I would try these ones because I thought they might be smaller but they're not they're huge. And these weren't even a large ones that I got. I'm going to see if shrinking them helps at all. Color and quality is good.

Seem to be a quality product although I have not worn them. I'm putting together a uniform for a trooper of the Queen's Own Camerons division from WW2. These are very thick and should wear well. I like WPG!

I was looking forward to those and was bit afraid of fit.
When I received those, they seemed to be a bit large and too scratchy. One wash on 60°C shrinked them a bit and scratching disappeared almost completely. Perfect fit for circa 44 size feets.

The socks are well made, with good materials. A good replica. However , they came with a very strong chemical smell. Like new plastic. They require a thorough washing and multiple rinses to get this smell out of them. May need a second washing.

These wool stockings are perfect for a bagpiping uniform using a khaki tan shirt. This color is very hard to find in bagpiping stockings. They are a nice dark tan/gold color. I washed them and hung them on the line to dry to be sure the wool would not shrink and the socks did not shrink during washing. I was very happy to find this web site as it has some great choices of hard to find items.

- Large Size foot, but should display well on a sz 10 footed mannequin (some day)
- Though I don't know the era from - I gather these are identical to those worn in the deserts fought over in WW2 (by a mix of Commonweath Troops)

After having tested them all the wintertime long, a perfect insulating layer to my boots, I've doubled the purchase. Just hand washing them with soap & cold water with a bit of softener/cider vinegar will keep them perfectly soft & fitting; in fact a wise blend of nylon had reduced shrinkage to practically zero, I guess even machine washing would do little or no harm, aside from shortening their life. Only drawback are the feeble inner stitches that keep the fold over band, no big deal actually. I can't do anything but warmly recommend them; a very very satisfactory product.

Another precious find by WPG - Pretty Unique both in replicas & originals (often difficult to part one from the other, might be not stated); great availability; fast, dependable, trouble-free service quick as the lightning.. The stockings, what it has to be said it's been yet stated, I add that they're suited for any desiderable task. Recommended.
