This is a very nice repro of this pouch, from the material to the hook to the snaps (they're not the typical modern-style snaps like others use on the early pouch repros). I believe it to be more the size of a M-1907 FAP, but that doesn't detract from it whatsoever. Highly recommended.
M1904 First Aid Pouch
(2013-09-15)
When I first received this pouch I thought that this was the same pouch as the M1912 (USMC). I then laid them side by side. No, by God, they are different. The M1904 is a flat "envelope", just like the later M1910 US Army pouch. The M1904, however, is a different color, weave, and has different closure snaps. This is the same type of relationship that the M1940-41 (USMC)F.A. pouch has to the M1912 (USMC) pouch. Both USMC pouches are true pouches, while both US Army pouches are envelopes. Despite the different families, both earlier pouches (M1904 and M1912) use a different type of material (finer weave in a khaki material instead of coarse weave in a pea green material) and closure hardware (small brass male studs rather than nickel female snaps) than the pouches made a generation later. My God, what close attention to detail!
