Steal this jacket! Maybe anybody’s last chance to get anything this cool
(2022-09-15)

Birthday present. A little warm right now, so not wearing it yet. Just got to try it on.
It is NAVY BLUE. That’s the first good thing. It is SOFT for a wool jacket or shirt jacket. It was designed (read engineered) to work in, or live in. Makes sense, as it’s daddy did that in the CCC. If you ordered your actual sport coat size, you could put a sweater on underneath it. I ordered one size down to go over a flannel shirt.
It is UNLINED. Think those unlined wool jackets from Pxxndlxxn or Wxxlrxxh. They were unlined. This is unlined. The only lining is on the underside of the pocket flaps. Don’t know why, but way back when they were spec’d that way.
It is CAPED, like a Mackinaw used to be. Think about it this way: you have this wool jacket, simple, goes down past your pants pockets. Over that, you have ANOTHER LAYER of WOOL that comes about 1/3 down the front and NEARLY ALL THE WAY DOWN the back, just like the picture, only darker and cooler. I think they lightened the color in the photos to show the details.
They French rolled EVERY SEAM! Gheeesh. Nice! Straight up barrel sleeves, and roomy. Enough of a collar to turn up meaningfully.
This jacket is just flat worth twice the price, after tax and shipping. More important, it is a good thing, well designed to do its work, and seriously executed.
Ya just gotta love these guys.

The barrel sleeves have an outside French rolled seam and inside straight stitched seam. The rest are rolled.
Been wearing it for morning coffee on back porch in 50s.. just undershirt under it. Nice 😊.
Still a steal.
