These full hose I expect will see a good deal of service. They are well made. On me the turn-ups cover the knee, which extends their usefulness in camp in the evenings when worn with short trousers; no need to pack long trousers in warm weather. They work well with puttees.

These socks are very fine, a little too fine actually. More of an officer's quality item rather than an general issue, very nice and well worth the price. Unfortunately, in my case, the foot portion of the sock was way large (I wear size 10UK/11US), though I expect it may have shrunk to acceptable proportions if washed hot/dried hot, which I didn't do. The real problem for me was the length, they came well over my knee (I'm 5'10"). I could double-over the top at least twice with the excess, making for a too snug fit around my calf (15"+). I didn't try to fix them b/c I had also ordered a pair of the orig Indian socks, they were spot on.

Very nice but only issue is they are a bit baggy in the foot but tight up top. I ordered large because of reviews. I can deal with this though so it's just really a minor negative on size not quality.

I ordered a large as I have size 11 feet (North American sizing), but should probably have ordered a medium as my feet are very narrow. They will work fine though for wear with my Scottish kilts, and the quality is very nice, but the tops that fold over are extremely tight and my calves only measure 15”. They will hopefully loosen up a bit with wear. Overall, highly recommended.

I guessed on a large vs medium size, and that worked well ... once washed, given a little shrinkage. But mostly I was impressed on how nicely made these were! Thick, soft, smooth weave that I associate with more expensive hosery.

These are beautiful socks, but something needs to be borne in mind: WWII soldiers tended to be leaner than the average man is today. If you are not as lean as they were, consider wearing the larger size or wearing long trousers and shorter socks.

While very well made and in a nice color, I can not wear these hose. The foot fits nicely but the top was simply too small in diameter. I've passed these on to a friend with matchsticks for legs! He's happy...
