I have ordered two of these TAP 50/51 musettes now, one with regular straps and one with long straps. I bought my two months apart and the build quality on both is identical, so this shows how consistently good the WPG products are. This, along with the pistol belt, is a much-needed item for doing French Indochina. It's well made, and the only down-side ... and it's picky ... is the color of the bag material. A slight brownish shade, but with use and getting dirty, it'll end up looking good.

For my Indochina War impression, the TAP Musette Bag's construction matches the web canvas on my Mle 1951 Canteen exactly. Delving in further, now we see why the metal hardware on the TAP Equipment Belt Suspenders is so wide. Does the TAP Musette Bag interface with the Suspenders in the same way is the US WW2 Musette Bag clips into the US WW2 Suspenders? The answer is, "Yes! It does!" The big wide pack strap clips click into the large square suspender buckles precisely. You will end up with a lot of excess strap overhanging the pack when doing this, but this can be run back through the top keepers on the Musette pack and you have two loops then for a poncho, shelter half, or whatever wet weather gear you want to add for the jungle. Thanks WPG, well worth the price.
